劉氏畢業於香港教育大學創意藝術與文化榮譽文學士（一級榮譽）及音樂教育榮譽學士（一級榮譽），主修鋼琴，並於2018年起連續三年成為創意藝術與文化學系優藝生。劉氏曾榮獲獎學金，包括香港特別行政區政府獎學金、香港特別行政區政府獎學金—才藝發展獎學金、香港潮州商會獎學金和柏斯育才獎學金。此外，他也曾獲頒由香港教育大學創意藝術與文化學系所設立的優秀藝術獎獎學金（演奏）、優秀藝術獎獎學金（作曲）、繆思室樂獎獎學金等。

劉氏已考獲聖三一音樂學院鋼琴演奏文憑（LTCL）及聖三一音樂學院音樂理論專業文憑（LMusTCL），師隨王秀婷女士和李明哲女士，也先後跟隨名鋼琴家李嘉齡小姐、李偉安先生、王志仁先生、李璟輿博士等鑽研鋼琴演奏。

劉氏曾擔任虎豹樂圃室樂團和香港青少年管弦樂團的協作鋼琴家，也曾成為香港教育大學合唱團和室樂合唱團伴奏，現擔任元朗文協童聲合唱團導師及伴奏。

Lau graduated from The Education University of Hong Kong with Bachelor of Arts in Creative Arts and Culture (First Class Honours) and Bachelor of Education (Music) (First Class Honours), majoring in piano. Since 2018, he has been appointed the Student Pro-Artist of the Department of Creative Arts and Culture (CCA) for three consecutive years. He has been granted scholarships such as the HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund, HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund Talent Development Scholarship, Hong Kong Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce Scholarship, and Parsons Music Entrance Scholarship. Besides, he has also been granted scholarships founded by the EdUHK CCA Department, such as the EdUHK Artistic Excellence Award (Performance), EdUHK Artistic Excellence Award (Composition), EdUHK MUSES Chamber Award etc.

Lau has attained a Licentiate Diploma in Piano Performance (LTCL) and a Licentiate Diploma in Music Theory, Criticism and Literature (LMusTCL). He studies piano with Ms. Stella Wong and Ms. Sheryl Lee and has previously studied with well-known pianists such as Ms. Colleen Lee, Mr. Warren Lee, Mr. Chiyan Wong and Dr. Philbert Li.

Lau once became the collaborative pianist of Haw Par Music Chamber Clinic and Hong Kong Metropolitan Youth Orchestra. He was also the pianist of EdUHK Chorus and Chamber Singers. Now, he is the tutor and pianist of Yuen Long District Arts Committee Treble Choir.
