蘇偉雄博士於二零零五年及二零零八年自美國西南浸信會神學院分別取得教會音樂碩士學位 (主修作曲及小號演奏) 及音樂藝術博士學位 (主修作曲)。蘇氏所創作的曲目種類廣泛，包括獨奏、小組以至管弦樂團曲目等，其作品曾多次於香港、台灣、中國、韓國、美國及北歐演出。除此以外，蘇氏現為美國作曲、編曲及出版協會會員，並曾經取得多項音樂創作的殊榮，其中包括 Carolyn Lott 獎學金以表揚蘇氏對創作教會器樂目曲的貢獻、ASCAPPLUS (美國作曲、編曲及出版協會) 於二零零五年至二零零九年作曲獎項，及於二零零四年獲得 Vanguard Premieres 國際作曲比賽優異獎。於二零零六年, “Vangurad Premiers Volume 1: 2003 – 2005” 收錄了蘇氏所創作的無伴奏合唱曲 “O Bone Jesu”， 並於美國出版，大獲好評。

蘇氏曾於美國西南浸信會神學院擔任客席教授及於澳門大學擔任兼任講師。，主要任教音樂理論，作曲及音樂科技。現為香港浸信會神學院及香港國際音樂學校兼任講師, 並為教材 “Music in Minuets - for Grade 8 ABRSM Music Theory Exam”作者。

在指揮領域中，長期指導香港多校樂團，包括華英中學弦樂團、培僑中學（小學及中學部）交響樂團、迦密中學管樂團、保良局羅氏基金中學交響樂團及國際基督教優質音樂中學部交響樂團等。亦曾帶領不同學校樂團赴北京、上海、台灣、新加坡及維也納等地參賽及演出，拓展學生國際音樂視野。

Dr. William So obtained his Master of Church Music (majoring in composition and trumpet performance) in 2005 and his Doctor of Musical Arts (majoring in composition) in 2008 from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in the United States. His compositions are diverse, ranging from solo pieces and chamber music to orchestral works, with performances in Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, South Korea, the United States, and Northern Europe. He is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) and has received several accolades for his contributions to church instrumental music, including the Carolyn Lott Scholarship, ASCAP PLUS awards from 2005 to 2009, and an Honorable Mention in the Vanguard Premieres International Composition Competition in 2004. His a cappella choral piece “O Bone Jesu” was included in the 2006 publication “Vanguard Premieres Volume 1: 2003–2005,” which received widespread acclaim.

Dr. So has served as an adjunct professor at the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and as a part-time lecturer at the University of Macau, primarily teaching music theory, composition, and music technology.  He is currently a part-time lecturer at the Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminary and the Hong Kong International Institute of Music, and he authored the textbook “Music in Minutes - for Grade 8 ABRSM music theory exam.”

In the field of conducting, Dr. So has long guided orchestras at various schools in Hong Kong, including the string orchestra at Wah Yan College, the symphony orchestras at Pui Kiu College (primary and secondary), the wind orchestra at Carmel Secondary School, the symphony orchestra at Po Leung Kuk Laws Foundation College, and the symphony orchestra at the International Christian Quality Music Secondary School. He has also led school orchestras to compete and perform in places such as Beijing, Shanghai, Taiwan, Singapore, and Vienna, broadening students' international musical perspectives.
